America Recycles Day 2023

America Recycles Day is November 15–a nationally recognized day dedicated to promoting recycling in the United States.

Did you know?

  • According to the UN, only 20% of e-waste generated globally is documented to be collected and recycled.
  • In 2022, approximately 5.3 billion mobile phones were thrown away according to the International Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) forum.
  • The United States produces more e-waste annually than any other country and throws away 9.4 million tons each year.

Join us and thousands of others to keep electronics out of our landfills and harmful toxins out of our environment by hosting a collection event for your business, organization, or community!

Collection events are a great way to:

  • Give people a convenient and affordable way to responsibly dispose of e-waste
  • Augment your organization’s ESG activities
  • Raise awareness about keeping electronics out of landfills

Welcome New Team Members

HBR Shant Headshot

Meet Shant 👋

"Hi, my name is Shant Loussararian. I'm an Armenian-American born and raised in LA. I have a background in IT and consumer electronics repair. Over the past five years, I have successfully overseen the expansion of a group of franchised cell phone repair stores, positioning them among the top 20 in the nation.

I am thrilled to take on the role of Resale Manager/Trainer at Homeboy Electronics Recycling. In this role, my main goals are to grow the current revenue streams, establish new ones, simplify operational processes, and develop a training program that will enhance the earning potential of our current team members while also lowering the risk of recidivism.

When not at work, I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and scuba diving–I’m also in the process of becoming a private pilot!" - Shant Loussararian

We're thrilled to have Shant a part of the Homeboy Electronics Recycling Team!
